There’s been a recent crack-down on dog owners in Cadboro-Gyro park, mainly enabling access to the dog-friendly beach area through the park despite no signage. The only access point for people with dogs during the summer months is Telegraph Bay Rd., an overused and crowded area.

Visitors are welcome to bring their dogs to most regional parks and trails, as long as the dogs are on the trail and under control. CRD Parks recommends you keep your dogs on leash in all high use areas. Dogs are required to be on leash [...]
Wow, I’m surprised at how many parks & trails there are in Gordon Head! The Municipality of Saanich has a great new map showing them all. The map doesn’t show which parks are dog-friendly, so be sure to read the signs!

The municipality of Esquimalt have a new map of its parks online, or you can pick up a copy from the front desk at the Town Hall, the Recreation Centre or the Archie Browning Sport Centre. Unfortunately it doesn’t specify which parks are dog-friendly, but there are a lot to choose from.
